I'm guessing the GW crew may be in need of some sleep, so here are
some brief results:
Seven teams, plus one exhitibition team featuring Augustine Kim of
Georgetown, played a double round robin at JCV9. Augustine joined
NYU A for the second round robin, where packets from attending teams
were read.
Entering the final, the records of the top three teams were:
South Carolina 11-2
Maryland 10-3
Cornell 9-4
South Carolina entered the final vs. Maryland with a one-game edge.
Maryland won the first game by about 150, but South Carolina won the
second by slightly more than that.
I want to congratulate South Carolina for winning JCV9. They came
through when needed, and proved to be an excellent team today. I
also want to commend the two-man Cornell team of Jason Keller and
Scott Francis... I don't know what year Scott is, but he's damn good,
especially on lit.
I do have some pointed comments about the tournament and packet
quality, but I'm going to "simmer down now" (for a day or two) before
I get to them; also, I'm not sure if all of the participating
tournaments are finished.
