The fifth annual Carleton Undergraduate Tourament was played by 22 teams undeterred by an early morning snowstorm at Carleton College on March 8. Congratulations to the undefeated Iowa State duo of Matt Cvijanovich and Tim Kearns, who won the championship by defeating a trio from Minnesota in the finals, 300-220. (Playing on novice-level NAQT questions, CUT limits the field to undergraduate players only, playing on one or two-person teams, except for first-year players or teams from schools which earned no NAQT ICT invitation either of the two years before the present one.) My deepest thanks to all of the persons who helped to moderate this event: Paul Tomlinson, Gabe Lyon, Kevin Clair, Michael Falk, Will Cavert, Tim Meyer, Alma Molino, Mike Joy, Andrew Ulland, Adam Malamen, and Chris Baxter.
