Coaches, Players, and soon-to-be-former Players -- NAQT is looking to augment its writer pool for 2003-2004. If you enjoy writing questions and would like to get paid for it, we encourage you to consider becoming a writer for NAQT. Information may be found on our website at: http://www.naqt.com/jobs.html We are particularly looking for people interested in writing science, math, social science, current events, and geography, but will always take *anybody* who has demonstrated an ability to write interesting, quality questions. I would like to note a few things about writing for NAQT: 1. Despite some rumors to the contrary, NAQT does not require that writers learn a huge series of convoluted codes in order to submit questions; writers need only to identify their questions by writer number and a one- or two-letter code indicating its subject ("L" for literature, "FA" for fine arts, etc.) NAQT *does* have a complicated coding scheme to allow packets to be assembled automatically, but writers do not have learn it. 2. Despite some rumors to the contrary, NAQT does not require a minimum number of questions per year from its writers. Even 50 to 100 solid, creative questions would be noticed and appreciated by our editors and members. It is not necessary to commit to writing 500 or 1,000 questions to be accepted by NAQT. We look forward to seeing submissions from many of you who are ending your playing days! If you have any questions about the process, please do not hesitate to contact NAQT at naqt-at-naqt.com. -- R.
