Err... it might not be my place to point this out, but that never stopped me before: events will be scheduled as they are scheduled, and the dates of events depend almost entirely on the convenience of those dates for the majority of the circuit. NAQT SCT has to be held sometime in February to allow qualifying teams time to plan their ICT trips, and so on. Events won't be rescheduled for one person, or even for a small minority of people. I truly hope that you're not so desperate to play quizbowl that you would risk a divorce or a breakup in order to attend one tournament out of the year. Plus, Valentine's day is a load of hoakum anyway, created and perpetuated by Hallmark and candy companies to cash in on your affection for your significant other. If you let them intimidate you, you become nothing more than a corporate tool. And lest you think sour grapes, I speak as someone who is in a long-term relationship. Fortunately, both of us agree with the above assesment of this fake holiday. Jerry
