I'm not going to name names, but the involved > party is affiliated with a school that rhymes with Hal Work Tee. I'd be even more of an ass if I didn't admit publicly that this is entirely my fault; I wanted to run a West Coast mirror of this singles tournament, but despite people repeatedly emailing me and telling me they wanted to play, they did not actually send me any packets. I am entirely at fault for dragging my feet on letting Michigan know, and I hope that no one holds this against Berkeley or the West Coast in general, since I'm solely to blame for the mishap on our end. I apologize profusely to Michigan; they are right to castigate me as they see fit. For the next Michigan tournament, I publicly offer to reimburse them for my stupidity by writing any playoff packets they might need, so long as they let me know ahead of time. On a related note, however, please don't email TDs and express interest in playing if you're not going to write packets for a packet-submission tournament. I put off the deadline as much as I could in hopes of getting packets but got only one in the end. While this does not excuse me, it is frustrating to hear from people that they are interested and then getting nothing from them. If change your mind about attending a tournament, please email TDs and let them know. No longer speaking for Berkeley in any official capacity, Jerry
