Speaking of reinventing the wheel, I heard that Mad City featured a
theme packet to which all the answers were William Dean Howells.
First of all, that's about the stupidest idea for a theme packet ever.
But I mostly want to say that I think that's completely inappropriate
for a standard (non-wacky) tournament. Sure, I could write an
electrical engineering packet and screw all the humanities players,
but instead I stick to the distribution and give everyone a fighting
chance. Don't the literature players have enough advantages without
pulling stunts like this? (Note that I'm not blaming anyone at
Wisconsin, since as I understand it this was a guerilla tournament.)
