The Berkeley Quiz Bowl Club ran a mirror of Subash's singles
tournament yesterday. 19 people competed in three seeding
rounds, then the top 8 advanced to a bracketed round-robin. This
format was chosen based on the numbers of questions and
readers available.
Here are the bracketed round-robin results. Information in the
parentheses is the seed number going into the round-robin,
then the round-robin record.
1 Raj (3; 3-0)
2 Joon (1; 2-1)
3 David (2; 1-2)
4 Charles (4; 0-3)
5 Nick (6; 3-0)
6 Grant (8; 2-1)
7 Paul (7; 1-2)
8 Juliana (5; 0-3)
If anyone has thoughts on how to run a singles round-robin so
that there is some advantage to being seeded 1st rather than
4th, I would be interested to hear them. My email is satelite AT
