I anticipate that more official results will be forthcoming presently, but until such arrives: on Sunday UTC ran an abbreviated little tournament in the form of its second annual "Moc Masters", at which seven teams competed in a full round robin from which "I'm a Stupid Moron with an ugly face and a big butt, and my butt smells, and I also like to kiss my own butt" (I think that's the name; I know almost nothing about the damned Simpsons), also known as Kelly McKenzie playing solo, emerged undefeated to win the title for the second year in a row. "Haterade" (other Kentucky and honorary Kentucky people) finished second, having lost to "Stupid Moron" by five points and defeated the rest of the field, and "Pontius Pilate and the Naildrivers" (Georgia Tech people) was third. >From what I could gather, everyone had a pretty good time; the questions were very, very easy - except for one excellent but apparently very difficult round by Kelly and one not-so-excellent and extremely difficult round written by me - but nevertheless certainly playable, and the relaxed atmosphere served to make it a loose, tension-free affair. It would have been nice to have had more teams and thus more games, but it was also very nice to get home by around 9:30 as well, so I'll take what I can get. Congratulations to "Stupid Moron" for the win (he was also tournament MVP with a final ppg of 106), to Steinhice, Taylor, and the reading corps for running and editing an enjoyable tournament, and many thanks to my old teammate Keith Hudson and Joseph Dion for their willingness to fill in as the seventh team to round out the schedule.
