Here are the packet requirements for the University of Rochester's packet-submission trash tournament, the J. Benjamin Hindes Pre- Memorial Tournament to be held on September 28, 2003, in beautiful Rochester, NY: 25/25 questions 4/4 Movies (include: actors, directors/producers/creative, plots, classics, new releases) 4/4 TV (include: cable, current shows, old shows, actors, commercials) 4/4 Sports (include: questions on at least four different sports) 4/4 Music (include: questions on at least four different decades) 2/2 Toys and games (computer games, things in Toys-R-Us) 2/2 "Literature" (comics, magazines, books nevert taught in class) 1/1 Grotesque and bizarre (news of the weird, porn, evil food) 4/4 Your choice (no more than 1/1 extra in each of the above categories) Geek questions are limited to 4/4 per packet. This should not be a problem for most packets. However, we're also asking that there be at least 2/2 geek questions per packet. Similarly, there should be at least 2/2 girls' stuff. Please keep in mind that we would like this tournament to be accessible and fun for new, young players, so the difficulty level should be below that of something like TRASH Regionals. Also, we reserve the right to reject packets and ask for questions to be rewritten. Please make sure that your questions are up to snuff before you send them in. Submitting questions with misspellings, and obviously incorrect facts is unacceptable, so make sure that you proofread everything before submitting it. Here is the pricing breakdown for the tournament: Base Fee: $75 Second team: $60 Buzzers: -$10 Experienced Moderator: -$10 Packet Discounts: -$20 if submitted by 8/31/03 -$10 if submitted by 9/7/03 +$10 if submitted by 9/21/03 +$10 + (2^n+1) where n is equal to the number of days submitted after 9/21/03, if packet is submitted after that date (packets submitted this late will only be accepted at the discretion of the Tournament Director) Minimum fee: $35 per team Packets can be submitted to quizbowl_at_...
