To those attending the UGA Juniorbird... I just had a contact from one of the teams and I thought I would send this email out to you all to cover some points that weren't really covered in my last email. If you need a map of the campus to see where the Student Learning Center (the tournament site) is to the rest of campus, try the UGA website (uga.edu). There are a couple of maps that should suffice. For those interested in the FLorida-Tennessee football game: we will have a TV in the tournanment HQ (Room 401) so we will be able to watch and give updates as we go along. If we stick to schedule, lunch will be from aroun 1145am to 1pm, so those interested will be able to see kickoff. But be warned: those students not a)- in Baton Rouge or b)-home with their parents will be downtown getting ready for UGA-LSU at 330, so seating may be limited at certain restaurants. If you want to avoid the crowds, I suggest the fast food places on ATL Hwy. For those travelling long distances (esp North and South Carolina): While we hope the hurricane (not Miami) wont affect everybody's schedule, there is the chance that those being evacuated will come to Georgia for hotels and the like. It may be a good idea to double check your reservations and the cut off time before your rooms is re- sold. While I dont think it will affect too many teams, it doesnt hurt to check. When you arrive in Athens and need some assistance in finding places to eat and the like, you can do one of several things: 1- Get an Athens Visitors Guide...all hotels should have them, 2- Call me at either 706-583-1788 (my Apt) or 770-337-0339 (my cell). If you like, I can come by your hotel and pre-register your team to allow you some extra time in the morning for breakfast and the like. Even if you're going to be late on Saturday, call the cell to check in and we will adjust accordingly. Thanks again for your attendance and I look forward to having you all in Athens. Thanks Robin UGA CBAT
