The meeting place for the tournament will be in Lecture Room 2 of the Modern Languages Building. Registration to begin at 8:45. Meeting at 9:00. If you're unfamiliar with where the Modern Language Building (or as the hipsters call it, the MLB), check this page out - > http://www.mikeburger.com/mlbdirections.html . There will be 21 teams divided up into 2 groups, one with 10 and one with 11, just like last year. If you were in the 10 group last year, I tried to get you into the 11 group this year. Playoffs will also be like last year, top 3 in each group plus one placement game for the non-playoff teams. At least three theme packets are being brought in for the fun as well. The finals should start no later than 6 PM. Lunch will be provided. The sandwiches have been ordered. Even as we speak, sandwich artisans are hand kneading the dough and cheeses are being hand churned for your taste delights. Also, name-brand beverages and snack thingies, along with some fruit and vegetables, have been purchased. There's nothing like going into a warehouse club, navigating through the store with food for 95 people on a cart the size of Andorra, and then running into somebody from work. The rumors have to be flying now. "But Mike, I hear you've recently been hit with a blast of arctic weather? I saw the mastodons on TV." Yes, it's true that Michigan was hit with a few inches of snow and it's pretty darn cold out there today, but by Sunday it will almost be 30 degrees. Bring your swim trunks. "But Mike, I read that Chris Fowler said that Ann Arbor isn't much of a party town. What can I do Saturday night?" I can hear Fowler! Actually, for the sports inclined, you do have a few options. The US National Development Team will be playing an exhibition against the Michigan hockey team at 7:30 at Yost Ice Arena. Although the game is near a sellout, since it is an exhibition, plenty of tickets should be available outside the building. Go in and heckle the official scorer. He's in the pressbox right on the north blue line. The Mens' Gymnastics team will have a meet against Stanford at 7:30 at Cliff Keen Arena. Also, the Plymouth Whalers, a mere 20 minute jaunt from Ann Arbor, will be hosting the Kitchener Rangers at 7:30 pm. The Toledo Storm, a not so mere 65 minute jaunt from Ann Arbor, will also be at home, playing the Dayton Bombers in the battle for I-75.
