The past two tournaments we went to had no breakfast; > if we are paying over two hundred dollars for a tournament and have to > stand around while we wait for the rooms to get ready, I think that > bagels, donuts, and juice is not too much to expect. I believe breakfast provided by the tournament host is not a right, but a privilege. It is up to the tournament host whether they want to provide breakfast or lunch to attending teams. Granted, if a tournament host promises food and does not deliver, they should be criticized. I seriously doubt there is no way for a team to get food before a tournament. If the tournament host provides food, fine. Otherwise, go to Burger King or McDonald's, make reservations at a hotel with complementary breakfast, or go to a supermarket. If there is such a dark region of North America that lacks basic food services, bring your own. The quality of the tournament itself should always override the existance of a tournament-furnished breakfast. Getting food is an extra hassle that takes time, time that could be better spent setting up buzzers and taking registrations. That being said, I expect to be served breakfast at the next tournament Jordan hosts :-) Dan
