It seems to me that a better way of doing this is just this: rather than have a "salary cap," we just draft players, like a regular fantasy sports league (snaking draft, of course). We can do the draft online in the chat room, and people who can't be there at an appointed time can email their preferences to mr chuck so he can pick for them. How's that? The problem I have with the salary cap idea is it basically boils down to picking the people who are much better at ACF than NAQT, which isn't (exactly) the point. For example, Vik Vaz would be an utterly useless pick since he topped 110 PPG at NAQT sectionals playing essentially by himself; even though he might do well at ACF regionals, he's not worth 75% of your team's salary. Dave Hamilton, on the other hand, is worth a hell of a lot more even though he only scored 60 PPG playing with John Nam et al. Another point: "# of team wins" as a roto statistic isn't as meaningful as winning percentage, since (I assume) different regionals will have different #s of games. Frankly, I think in the true spirit of stats-obsessed fantasy owners everywhere :), team winning shouldn't be counted at all. I mean, that's what the actual games are for, right? Since we're in the unique position of being able to participate in both, why not be thorough about separating them as much as we can? Joon ...wondering how many people will draft themselves...
