This year we bought the questions after the SCT. On the way home,
we were looking over them and noticed that on MANY occasions,
we "powered" a tossup and were not given the extra points. It's not
that big of a deal to us, because it wouldn't have made a difference
in any of our matches. However, we found about over a dozen that we
powered and didn't get credit for.
On some tossups during the day that we were pretty sure we powered,
we had to ask the moderator and he/she would look back and say "Oh,
yeah! That was a power." However, like I said, about a dozen powers
were missed. I really hope that it didn't cause a loss somewhere
else.
As for general feedback: We attended the Southeast Sectional at
UGA. The teams that failed to show up caused some serious problems,
but the folks at UGA did a great job rectifying the problems. It
was a great tournament and we'll go back to UGA for future events.
As for the questions, I thought they were great. Sure, there were a
few problems, but for the most part, the questions were excellent.
NAQT did a great job this year.
Well, we're anxiously awaiting the ICT bids, and I hope to be
there. Good luck to all!
