I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Robin Richards and company for what was, under the circumstances, a well-run SCT at Athens, Georgia. The tournament ran into early delays because of the lateness of the USF teams (who were apparently at the wrong building) and the complete failure of FSU and UNF to show up. Also, some of the usual moderators from the UTC/GT/Athens area were absent. Nonetheless, we were able to play 14 rounds and get out of there by 7pm, which seemed _highly_ unlikely after the early delays. Rounds 6-14 took less than 4.5 hours, which by southeastern standards is tremendous. I can't speak of the Div II moderators, but those in Div I generally did a good job, I thought (Dave and Richard in particular -- my apologies for not knowing your last names). Robin did a good job of dealing with the various obstacles, including managing to keep us all from getting kicked out of the building at 7pm. The site (the Tate Learning Center) was excellent -- all match rooms were on the same floor of a single building, which is nice. Anyway, since the negative commentaries often seem to outnumber the positive ones, I just wanted to compliment Robin and company on getting the tournament done in a timely manner despite the adverse circumstances. --Raj Dhuwalia, UF
