First Invitational Golden Hurricane Tournament in Tulsa

Greetings, Coaches and Advisors!

The University of Tulsa Academic Bowl Team is pleased to announce 
that we will be hosting the First Invitational Golden Hurricane 
Tournament in Tulsa, OK, on Saturday March 27. This tournament will 
use questions from the Dennis Haskins Open at the University of 
Tennessee - Chattanooga, and it will be standard tossup/bonus format 
with 20 question matches. The tournament will be held in Chapman Hall 
on the TU campus (the same building as our last high school 
tournament), with registration beginning at 8:30am and matches 
starting at 9:00am. The tournament will use a round robin format, 
with playoffs in the afternoon. Depending on how many schools show 
up, we may have large and small school divisions. To qualify as a 
small school, the school must be a public, non-magnet high school 
with no more than 500 students (grades 9-12).

Fees and Discounts:
Base Fee: $75
Subsequent Teams: automatic $50
Buzzer System: -$10 (limit 2)
Teams who have been to a TU tournament: -$5 (one per school, not team)
Teams from Out of State: -$10
Minimum Fee: $50

When registering, please indicate how many teams you will bring, as 
well as buzzer systems and school classification (i.e. small school). 
The deadline to register is Wednesday March 24 at 11:59pm. Directions 
will be sent upon registration, and hotel listings (if needed) will 
be sent upon request.

As a side note, I do not want money to stand in the way of you 
attending our tournament. Therefore, if you would like to attend our 
tournament, and money is the only hindrance, please let me know, and 
we can work something out.

Lastly, since these questions will be used at the Dennis Haskins 
Open, please do not register for both tournaments. Also, if you do 
attend UTC's tournament, please do not discuss questions from the 
tournament on public forums, seeing as that our tournament will be 
one weekend after UTC's tournament.

We hope to see many teams from many states in Tulsa on Saturday March 
27, for what will most definitely be a fun and entertaining 
tournament. Thanks.
