The University of Minnesota is the winner of the 25th ACU-I/College
Bowl National Championship Tournament. They defeated runner-up
Michigan 220-175 in the playoffs.
Florida finished third, and Georgetown fourth. Results are available
at http://www.collegebowl.com/campus/info.asp by clicking
on "National Championship" then "2004 Nationals" then "Results."
In the inaugural 1953-54 season of "Colleege Quiz Bowl, the
University of Minnesota was the most successful team; winning eight
matches before losing to Brown/Pembroke. So it is, perhaps, fitting
that Minnesota is again the champ in the 50th Anniversary year. Their
victory is also a fitting tribute to Minnesota coach Dave Dorman, who
retires from College Bowl on-top and in-style.
