As one of the few people who attended this banquet and also reads this board (since the number of respectable circuit teams that attend CBI continues to dwindle), I can confirm that what Matt Weiner said in his post is absolutely correct. It was me and a teammate of mine that related this information to him in the first place. The speech consisted of descriptions of various CBI players who went on to have great lives, and ended with the description of the two players from Virginia who were not identified by name, but one was "just an assistant coach" and the other was "by all accounts, deranged", the idea being that if you play and enjoy CBI questions, you are obviously incredibly intelligent and will be successful in life, and if you don't enjoy CBI, you will end up in a dead-end job or in a mental institution. And I'm sorry I had to ruin your impression of Richard-Reid-as-Jesus- Christ, Hayden. Matt Lafer University of Michigan --- In quizbowl_at_yahoogroups.com, sfs98ud99 <no_reply_at_y...> wrote: > 1.
