(cont'd from previous post...) * Also, the issue of a B team, while an interesting point, is mostly irrelevant to our case: if we could have been guaranteed even one bid in -each- division, we wouldn't have fielded any teams. It was the fact that we would have to sacrifice one division as a penalty for hosting the tournament which proved the main problem. (I know that solutions to this are being discussed, so I don't want to beat the issue to death, but I felt this was worth mentioning again.) * Finally, Dom worries that our B team will be composed of "obviously inferior" players. While it probably won't have Joon, David, or Willy (though it probably will have Gautam), it -will- have 4 (or possibly 5) players. This goes back to what I was saying at the beginning: if we had been able to put 12 people into our teams, I have no doubt we would have achieved roughly the same results. But our teams were shorthanded, so we had to put our best players on them to compensate. I think these effects cancel out. Anyway. I know the NE SCT wasn't perfect, and I apologize for the tradeoffs which were necessary, but I tried my hardest to balance the needs of the tournament with our own needs, which I think resulted in the fairest possible result. Thanks for listening, Paul
