The University of Georgia College Bowl Academic Team would like to announce that it will be hosting its 2nd annual NAQT Juniorbird Tournament on Saturday Nov 20, 2004, in the Student Learning Center on the UGA Campus. The following will answer any questions you may have (we hope): Questions: Once again, we'll be using the questions from the fine folks at NAQT. The IS# is 44, so keep that in mind if you wish to play. Who can play: 1- Students who attend 2 yr schools 2- Students who have freshman and sophomore standing at a 4 yr school 3- uppperclassmen who have never played a round of any format (NAQT, CBI, Trash/TRASH) before Nov 20, 2004. 4- Students who played NAQT Div II at their respective regionals and DID NOT go to Nationals ever. Format: Depending on the number of teams, a multi-division RR with a playoff bracket (just like last year). Costs: Here's the breakdown: Base: 120 Buzzer: -5 Dedicated reader (at least for the RR): -5 Travel: 0-100 miles (as determined by the TD): 0 101-200: -10 201+: -15 Extra teams: +25 each Minimum fee for one team that comes over 200 miles with buzzer and reader: $95 Hotel: We have eight rooms reserved at the HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS (not the main Holiday Inn that many used last year) for Friday (11-19) and five for Saturday night (11-20) for $80 a night. There seems to be a major event in town, and thus the rooms are at a premium. You are always more than welcome to stay elsewhere in town. If you need help, please let me know. This HI has a free breakfast, FWIW. Call 706-546-8122 and tell them you're part of the UGA NAQT Juniorbird Tournament. The rooms will be let back out to the public on Oct 29, 2004, so act fast if you want them. QUESTIONS, Comments: Any questions or comments should be directed to me, Robin Richards, at Quizdogs at uga dot edu. More info concerning teams and schedule as the months progress. Thanks Robin UGA CBAT
