Well, better late than never. On July 17th five teams attended the second installment of the North Avenue Trade School Summer Open. With such a small field, we ran a double round robin, concluding the tournament before 6 pm. The final result: Fed-Ex Antipopes, a.k.a. South Carolina, walked away undefeated at 8-0, with Suck our CAC, a team of assorted players residing in the state of Florida, took second with a record of 5 - 3. The following are the complete team stats: Team W-L Avg. Score Opp. Score Diff ------------------------------------------------------------------- Fed-Ex Antipopes 8-0 355.0 85.0 270.0 Suck our Cac 5-3 142.5 189.4 -46.9 Something D-O-O Econ 3-5 163.1 198.8 -35.6 OedipusatCol.Complex 2-6 120.6 191.2 -70.6 Oh My Nappy Hair 2-6 106.9 223.8 -116.9 That done, the player results follow. The top three players were awarded various prizes, with the unfortunate decision that Tom Waters was ineligible for prizes because (a) he only played 3 rounds and (b) he wasn't present for the awards ceremony. With the tournament firmly in the hands of Fed-Ex Antipopes, and with only ten of the fifteen players hanging around after the conclusion of the tenth round, we played the last round as an exhibition, with the top two players drafting their teams. The results of this round follow: Hot Lunch - 340 Saurabh (c) 3 - 1 Joe 7 - 0 Kishan 0 - 0 Robert 3 - 1 Ajanta 0 - 0 Pontius Pilate & the Nail Drivers - 135 Eric (c) 4 - 0 Marcus 0 - 0 Taylor 0 - 2 Patrick 0 - 0 Alex 0 - 0 All that said, I would like to thank Scott Buckley for coming out and moderating with me and Nick Bendler for editting the submitted packets, making my otherwise hectic summer schedule sufficiently free for me to pop out the blind rounds. I'd also like to thank Saurabh for submitting an extra packet on two days notice when I realized I didn't have time to get enough rounds in the event of a tie. This concludes all the business with the second installment of the North Avenue Trade School Summer Open - Undecided Subtitle. Thank you, Stephen Webb ex-TD NATSSO II
