On September 25, 2004 the University of Rochester's Thelion Society
will be hosting the 2nd Annual Frederick Douglass Invitational
Championship on the (hopefully) not-yet-snow-covered University of
Rochester campus. The FDIC is an opportunity for new teams and
players to play early in the year on questions accessible to both
rookies and veterans. Veteran players and teams are certainly
encouraged to come to the FDIC as well, so that new players can also
be introduced to the level of intercollegiate play. We will run the
tournament this year on NAQT Invitational Packet Set #44, so please
make sure that you are not planning to attend both the FDIC and
another tournament using this set.
Tournament Fees:
Base Fee $100
Buzzer Discount (max. 2 per school) -$5
Qualified Moderator Discount -$10
Multiple Team Discount -$10/team (2nd team pays
$90, 3rd team $80, etc.)
Travel Discount - 200+ miles -$15
Travel Discount - 350+ miles -$25
Minimum Fee Per Team $50
All distances will be based on MapQuest. All dollar amounts are in
American funds.
This is a great tournament to introduce new players to the
intercollegiate circuit, as well as to give some early-season
practice to all other players. If you're interested in coming, or if
you have any questions, please contact me at mynameisdan_at_...
(mynameisdan at hotmail dot com).
