Greetings, everyone! First of all, I want to thank all the teams who came to Tulsa to compete in ACF Fall Southwest this weekend. Although I had some readers bail on me at the last minute, I think the tournament ran fairly smoothly; of course, having Harding show up with no prior notice was quite a bit of a surprise to say the least. But luckily, I had planned schedules for 6-8 teams, just in case. Anyway... now for the important stuff. We had eight teams compete in Tulsa, two of which (Harding and Northwestern Oklahoma State) competed in their first-ever non-CBI tournament. I believe all but three of the teams qualified for the Division II title. The overall winner was Texas-Austin, who defeated The Chris Romero Experience in overtime of the final match (325-310). The winner of the Division II title was Harding, led by freshman Jason Loy. We played a full round robin and then split the field into upper and lower brackets. But because NWOSU left early, the lower bracket played in one less game than the upper bracket. The final standing are thus (they include the championship match): Texas-Austin 10-1 434.09 PPG Romero 9-2 391.82 PPG Harding 6-4 283.50 PPG Oklahoma A 4-6 175.00 PPG Texas-Dallas A 5-4 173.33 PPG Oklahoma B 3-6 150.00 PPG Texas-Dallas B 1-8 62.22 PPG NWOSU 0-7 54.29 PPG Top Individual Scorers (Based on all matches): 1. Romero Romero 114.55 PPG 137/22 11 GP 2. Jeremy Oklahoma A 58.50 PPG 61/5 10 GP 3. Jason Harding 57.00 PPG 65/16 10 GP 4. Eric Texas-Austin 56.82 PPG 66/7 11 GP 5. Caleb Texas-Austin 52.73 PPG 60/4 11 GP 6. Daniel Texas-Dallas A 35.71 PPG 25/0 7 GP 7. Alex Oklahoma B 24.17 PPG 16/3 6 GP 8. Walter Texas-Dallas A 22.50 PPG 20/4 8 GP 9. James Texas-Dallas B 20.56 PPG 19/1 9 GP T10. Matthew Oklahoma B 19.44 PPG 19/3 9 GP T10. Erin Oklahoma B 19.44 PPG 18/1 9 GP I hope to have all the stats posted online on our team website eventually. I just need to convince the team's webmaster to either update the team's website (which hasn't been done since the Spring of 2003) or let someone else take over the site. Regardless, the stats will be online eventually. I want to thank both Matt and Subash for what were excellent questions, as well as all the teams who made this tournament possible. And for teams in the Southwest region, look out for Harding this year. Thanks. Cheers! Angelo Malabanan President - TU Academic Bowl Team Tournament Director - ACF Fall Southwest 2004
