TRASH Midwest Quick Results

14 teams decided to come back to WUSTL today after a full day of GIT 
the day before.  After a partial round robin with two brackets of 
seven teams each the following teams advanced to the championship 
bracket (I'm sorry I don't recall everyone's trash names):

Depauw A
Depauw B
Northwestern
Rolla (something about Pink)
Colombian Trash Lords
WUSTL house team
Alcoholics Synonymous (Tulsa)
UIUC (Federal Cash...something or other)

with the consolation bracket consisting of 
University of Illinois Springfield A
Springfield B
Rhodes
Truman
Mizzou B (Something about Closet Monkeys)
Oklahoma (who left after prelims)

After playoffs Mizzou emerged as the third place team (claiming the 
MSNBC/Hardball grabbag) with Northwestern and Depauw A being the 
fourth and fifth place teams (I can't remember which ones).  The 
last round of the playoffs saw Alcoholics Synonymous beat UIUC to 
take a one game advantage into the final which they won to claim the 
TRASH Midwest Regional and the "What the F*&K were They Thinking???" 
prize of DVDs of Who's That Girl?, Wisegirls, Showgirls, and 
Slapshot 2.  UIUC got the Teenybopper Hell prize of NKOTB's "Face 
the Music," a Menudo video collection, Christina Aguilara's "Genie 
Gets Her Wish," and "Hanging with Leo!" an unauthorized Leonardo 
DiCaprio stalkumentary.  Mizzou B won the consolation bracket and 
claimed a four pack of the second series of Garbage Pail Kids 
cards.  Jason Mueller was the top scorer and Colby Burnett and Kyle 
Shepley were the neg leaders each receiving awards.  Kyle got his 
just desserts for giving me TP for the same occasion last spring at 
DUCK Bowl.

Thanks to the wonderful wonderful WUSTL staff who devoted so much of 
this weekend to these tournaments.  Special thanks to our stat boy 
Jon Pinyan who makes life so much easier with his superlative work.  
I probably trust him more than a calculator...though not as much as 
my beloved abacus.  And once again thanks to all the teams who 
played, I hope fun was had by all.
