Thanks to everyone for participating in the 6th annual Sun 'n Fun Quiz-in at the University of South Florida. We played a full round robin with 11 teams. Div. I Champion: University of Florida "A" Div. II Champion: Central Florida Community College "Red" All-Stars: John Allan (UF) 53.5 ppg, Billy Beyer (FSU) 53.0 ppg, Kivin Childers (Athens St) 33.0 ppg, and Paul Schreiber (Manatee) 30.5 ppg. USF:Rob/Chip/Brian (10-0) beat everyone and UF:Raj/Amy (9-1, loss to USF) competed as exhibition teams and were very impressive, but ineligible for prizes. Raj also averaged up near 100 ppg and was a first-time recipient of the NEG PRIZE (a copy of the steamy romance novel "Cajun Heat"). Special recognition: Due to a clerical mistake, FSU was counted as a Division I team, although they really had all Div II players. In the tourney, they actually beat both other Div I teams, and their points total would have allowed them to edge CFCC for the Div II title had they been in the correct division. Sorry for the mistake, and thanks to FSU for its gracious response in dealing with it. IMO, that's what Sun 'n Fun is all about--having fun, not grousing about stuff. That's why I enjoy this tournament so much. At halftime Saturday, we had pizza and played "Music Madness ver. 1.0" (By Rob F./Scott P.) with 25 snippets of songs that everyone had to guess artist/title. The winner, IIRC was Paul Schreiber, who got an old cigar. We really ought to have better prizes for that next time! Some of the "gloriously wrong" music answers: Instead of "Foggy Mountain Special" by Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, someone put "Dueling Banjoes" by Burt Reynolds. Instead of "Louie Louie" by the Kingsmen, someone put "Wooly Bully" by Sheb and the Arabs (not even Sam the Sham and The Pharaohs). Jeremy Rasmussen Quiz Bowl at USF
