Hi all, Sorry for the short notice, as we wanted to give Canadian teams right of first refusal, but we still have a few spots available to play in the first-ever Quebec Bowl. The tournament, a mirror of the British Columbia Bowl, will be contested on the beautiful campus of McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on Saturday, Oct. 15. The tournament will be played in the only building on a university campus in North America known to be named after William Shatner, and will be followed by a TRASH singles tournament. We would love to have a number of American teams join us at this tournament, which, despite having all its questions written by Canadians, created packets with the goal of minimizing Canadian content so that American teams would feel welcome and be able to compete on equal footing. No packet submission is required to play, and there is no fee for the tournament, although we would request that each school bring one buzzer system. We have approximately four spots available at this time, and they will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Please let us know by Thursday evening if you plan to attend. The tournament begins at 10am, which is designed to allow teams located nearby to drive in the morning of the tournament, if they so desire. However, if you plan on attending and wish to stay overnight for a night or two, e-mail me and I will be happy to provide you with a number of hotels near McGill (many offering special rates for McGill visitors), as well as directions to Montreal, directions on and around campus, and a list of events taking place in Montreal that weekend. Again, please let us know as soon as you can if you plan to attend, with four spots currently being the maximum available number, and the deadline to let us know your intentions being Thursday at 11:59pm EDT. Thanks very much, and hope to see some American teams at this very American-friendly Canadian tournament. Regards, Andrew Segal President Trivia Club McGill University triviaclub_at_hotmail.com
