One minor point: that post actually refers to the older pre-S-value formula (i.e., the one that created the Princeton/Maryland issue). I can say this much about S-values, though: * The actual S-values themselves do not take into account win-loss records. * The win-loss records are actually used in the seeding process, though: for one team to advance ahead of a team with a better record *from the same sectional*, that team had to have a significantly higher S-value; the greater the difference in record, the greater the difference needed.
