Notre Dame has a policy like this as well, although they have a provision where if you don't have a chaperone to go with you, you can have someone from the alumni association in that city as a contact. When you arrive, you call them, tell them you got there, and then they call the student activities office and tell them that you are still alive or something. Anyway, anytime a school organization goes in university vehicles, out of state, and/or overnight, we are required to have one of these two things.
