National Academic Quiz Tournaments, LLC, is pleased to announce that it is now accepting bids from colleges to host the Intercollegiate Championship Tournament (ICT) in the 2000-2001 competition year. The ICT will be held the weekend of April 6-7, 2001. Interested hosts should e-mail naqt_at_... by May 1, 2000, to indicate their desire to host. NAQT hopes to announce the selected site by June 1, 2000. Factors that NAQT will consider in making the decision include: * Proximity to a major airport * Availability of gamerooms and hotel rooms * Enthusiasm of the club and its institution * Experience of the club and its institution * Availability of moderators, scorekeepers, and other officials in the area * Unique perks a host site or club is willing to provide (theme park, etc.) The application to host must be made by a team member or advisor who plans on remaining with the host institution throughout the 2000-2001 competition year and who intends to take an active role in the planning and execution of the event. Unlike the Sectional and Fall Tournaments which are primarily run by the hosts, the ICT is directed by NAQT personnel with the assistance of the host club and institution. Hosting the ICT does not provide the host with an automatic berth in the tournament. -- R. Robert Hentzel President and Chief Technical Officer, National Academic Quiz Tournaments, LLC
