Players and Coaches -- NAQT is now accepting requests from teams that would like to be on the standby list for the 2007 NAQT High School National Championship Tournament in Chicago. The standby list is discussed here: http://www.naqt.com/hsnct/standby.html Basically, teams on the standby list commit to attend the tournament without any guarantee of playing. They will be added to the field if and only if a team drops out the day of the event or simply doesn't show up. It is envisioned that primarily local teams will be interested in becoming standby teams, but there is no geographic restriction. If you are planning on bringing three or more alternates for a single team, there's (probably) no good reason for your school to not be on the standby list as well. No qualification is required; just enthusiasm for playing and the ability to commit to attending. Do not confuse the standby list with the wait list; the standby list is only used for vacancies that occur at the tournament itself. The wait list (of qualified teams who registered after the field filled) will be used to replace canceling teams prior to the Friday of the event. -- R.
