Twenty teams descended onto the lovely Tampa campus of the University
of South Florida on Saturday for the eighth annual Novice Invitational
Quiz Bowl Tournament, this year subtitled: "Halloween Buzz 2007."
After a fearsome round-robin struggle among the teams in the Gargantua
and Pantagruel divisions, two high school teams—South Fork and Hardee
A—came out with unblemished 9-0 records against their collegiate foes.
In the playoff flights, however, Pasco-Hernando CC Black exerted
itself against South Fork, Hardee A, and Valencia Red to emerge
victorious overall. Congrats to the mighty Conquistadors!
I will publish full result on http://ctr.usf.edu/quizbowl within a few
days.
Thanks again to all who participated and to all our volunteers.
