I've been thinking about this whole character class thing and it kind of makes sense to me, as long as we apply the principles and rules of Magic: The Gathering. Those of you with lives should stop reading now. The fighter and cleric classes are analagous to "instant" spells, while the thief and wizard classes are "interrupt" spells. As instant spells, fighter and cleric powers are used without relation to the other spells; therefore, cleric turns -5 to +5 regardless of how the other powers are used in that question. Interrupt spells allow the player to alter a spell already being cast. Order is important; the last interrupt used is the one with the most precedence. By this rule, a hypothetical exchange with wizard powers on the last tossup might go like this: Moderator casts tossup #20 spell. Team A interrupts tossup spell with Wizard spell, setting the answer to "Dave is a geek". Team B interrupts Team A's Wizard spell with their own, setting the answer to "Hell yes". Because interrupts can interrupt other interrupt spells, the final answer to the tossup is "Hell yes" and therefore Team B gets the tossup. Since the last team will always be the one that gets the tossup, no team would use the wizard power on tossup 20 if the other team still had theirs. Similarly, the thief power is useless for the final bonus if both teams still have it because Team A can steal the bonus back if Team B steals it first. As long as these two powers can be used to interrupt the other team, as well as the question, it should all work out IMGO*. Dave *(In my geeky opinion)
