The format was complicated. Essentially, it
boiled down to this: one seeding round of 5 people in a
room (4 rooms), to determine matchups for another
seeding round. The 2nd is longer, and is designed to
separate out the field into groups of 4; the top 8
finishers (group A) then proceed to a 1-on-1 round-robin,
while the other 12 are divided into three brackets
(groups B, C, D) for more multi-player action in a sort
of "ladder" format. The top finisher of group C
switches with the bottom finisher of group B after each
round; likewise with C and D. After 3 rounds, the top
two in group B play each other 1-on-1 for the group B
championship.

an 80-point max-out for each player):

higher, since they both maxed out on the same number of

smoothly, except when David noticed during his RR match
against Jeff that he had heard parts of the packet in the
