The 2000 Sixth Annual Dwight Kidder Cup, Michigan's 1 vs. 1 Tournament was held on Sunday, May 28, 2000 and we learned several things this day: 1). Never ever trust that the bureaucrats of a University know what the others are doing (thanks Michigan DPS for believing that we were supposed to be here) 2). The Kidder Cup is now a real trophy thanks to Mike Burger and his label maker, which we also learned, is not a toy, Alex. 3). Always pay attention to what you're doing when editing play-offs. OK, onto results: http://www.umich.edu/~uac/mac/20001vs1.html This will show in very pretty colors that Subash Maddipoti, after upsetting defending champion Dwight Kidder in the semi-finals 320-175, beat Illini teammate Mike Angel in the finals 175-110. Mike arrived in the Finals by beating Eric Hillemann in the semis by a 230-135 count. I will have a fixtures chart up soon where you can see how everyone faired against everyone else and the like, but for now, peruse and enjoy. The kudos: Special thanks to Julie Stahlhut, Kevin Olmstead, Anne Mitchell, Brandy Shattuck, USC's Tim Woodward, Haggai Elitzur, Alex Hovan, Dan Schoenberg, Mike Knapp, and Michael Davidson for moderating (A TD's dream, a 1:1 staff to team ratio); To all of those players who migrated into Ann Arbor for this little thing; and to Robert Whaples, Nathan Freeburg, and Ben Shack for providing playoff packets which can be downloaded from the results page. We'll see you in August for the Burns, now with undergrad division. Craig D. Barker Who SWEARS this is the last time they will convince him to run a tournament, until the next time.
