For this contest, I am declaring two winners: K. Michael Wilcox, with a score of 4, and Mark Tong, who had a perfect entry, but missed the "official" deadline by about an hour. Just a couple of quick notes: (1) The Screw answers were divided among four questions (organelles [4], states [3], Requiems [4], and baseball [1]). (1b) One screw answer was given twice as a screw, but never as an answer (Golgi body). Most effective screw: Wyoming (given by 4 people). (2) There were a total of 8 wrong answers, four each on the last two questions: Baseball players: McGwire, Burks, Matt Lawton, and Ted Williams. Game shows: Twenty-One [2], Jeopardy!, Tic Tac Dough (3) A number of people caught on to the fact that the "Requiem" question did not require the work in question to be a musical one. (4) Interestingly enough, the most obvious answer for the baseball question--Nomar Garciaparra--was never given as an official answer or as a screw. At any rate, here are the results (numbers in parentheses are scores without screws, if lower): Mark Tong 1 K. Michael Wilcox 4 Nate Meyvis 6 Tom Chuck 12 (6) Jason Keller 20 (8) Joon Pahk 20 (8) Steve Lawrie 20 (16) Noel Erinjeri 27 (18) Jer Smith 27 C.St.Hugh Purcell 36 (24) Edmund Schluessel 36 Guy Jordan 72 Dan Suzman 360 (288) Since I've got another two weeks before I go back to the OR, look for another Rare Entries from me this weekend.
