Well, Katie and Company haven't announced anything, so let me tell you what I know. Ten teams were in Division I when Johns Hopkins A and B and Virginia Tech B decided to show up. The ten teams played a single RR, followed by a split RR. After the single RR, the standings looked kinda like this: 1. Penn State 2. Pittsburgh 3. Maryland 4. George Washington 5. Virginia 6. Virginia Tech A 7. Duke 8. Johns Hopkins A 9. Johns Hopkins B 10. Virginia Tech B (Don't remind me how little that resembles my predictions.) Anyhow, after the split RR, Penn State was still in first, and Pitt was still in second. This meant that PSU won, and Pitt (who judiciously moved Matt Weiner up to D1) took the UG title. Meanwhile, as if you care, Duke swept the lower half playoff. All-stars weren't announced, but if I had to guess, I'd say the first three all-stars were Steve Perry (playing by himself) of Virginia, Matt Weiner of Pittsburgh, and Tom Shields of Penn State. I'd like to think I had a shot at 4th, but my best guess at fourth is one of these five, all of whom played well in games I took part in: * Shaun Hayeslip, Maryland * Aaron Schroeder, GW * Edmund Schluessel, GW * myself * Jody Neal, VTech A ...and I probably misspelled all your names, which serves me right for being an ass. Meanwhile, down in D-II, a colossal upset occurred in the minds of everyone not located in the Triangle. North Carolina won the D-II round robin to take the trophy. To the best of my knowledge, Maryland was second, and either Duke or Pitt was third. Let me take this opportunity to say that the question set was close to the best I've ever heard. Power marks were placed much better than at other tournaments, and the hard clues on bonuses were indeed hard. 15 pointers in 5-10-15s and 30 pointers in 30-20-10s, with the notable exception of the Matrix question, were few and far between. Kudos, kudos, kudos. Also, congrats to Penn State, Pitt, and UNC, who deserved to win. Pitt, in particular, beat the crap out of us twice, so I have respect for them. And with that, back to football.
