The law
in this area is pretty clear--at least I booked this
section of Torts so I think I know what I'm talking about
:)
Truth is always a perfect defense. And we've had
several examples posted, anyone of which would be
conclusive. Put it this way, if it wasn't true, considering
that this is a pretty public forum, presumably with
high school teams who may be Chip Beall customers
reading these posts; well if it all wasn't true, the
first person who posted here probably committed libel.
Chip Beall isn't a public figure of any sort (I don't
think) so the standard is lower; nevertheless, truth is
a pretty darn simple defense. And this does matter
and it is serious--and it might be smart to do
something legally about it.
