The College Trivia Club of Case Western Reserve University held its fifth Buzzerpalooza tournament on Saturday, February 3, 2001. >From the 14-team Junior Varsity tournament (straight round robin play, no playoffs), the top four teams are 1st Columbus Alternative [OH](13-0)* 2nd Collegiate Academy [Erie PA] (11-2)* 3rd Turpin JV-C [Cincinatti OH] (9-4) Tied for fourth place were the other two Turpin JV teams (8-5 each) >From 50-team Varsity field, 31 teams snagged slots in the single-elimination playoffs. When the field was reduced to 8 teams, those teams played three games for final placements as follows 1st Eisenhower [Shelby Township MI] (14-0)* 2nd Catholic Central-A [Redmond MI] (13-1)* 3rd Troy [MI]* 4th Walsh Jesuit A [Stow OH]* 5th North Olmsted [OH] 6th Catholic Central-B 7th Parkersburg South [WV] 8th Orange [OH] Jessica McGeary MVP: Kevin Roth, Eisenhower HS * These six teams have earned free automatic entries to Buzzerpalooza 2002.
