"How does 17 rounds -- timed, no less -- work out
to "almost 12 hours"?"
Answer: It's the
Southeast. We take things a little more slowly.
Okay,
in all honesty, we had an hour and a half for lunch.
We had two building running, which and each room
waited for the slowest room to catch up for reasons of
packet security. Throw all this in, and you get 12
hours. Or maybe it just seemed that long, since
Steinhice's policy is to start at 10 AM.
Ah, I can
just hear Al Whited and Scott Gillespie now: "When I
was your age, we played a 23-team round-robin, and
did it all in one day. The finals were at 3 in the
morning, and the tournament was spread out over seven
buildings, all one mile apart
uphill..."
zzzzzzzzzzzzzz :)
