In other words,
message traffic a little more than doubled in one year
(from around 1,000 posts in 1999 to around 2,000 posts
in 2000). Given that it's hit 1,000 in four months,
I wouldn't be that surprised to see it double again
(to around 7,000) by
12/31/01.
Caveats:
The delay between 2,000 and 3,000 needs to factor in
the fact that the summer is usually a slow time with
markedly fewer announcements, Penn Bowl updates,
etc.
The 99 days needs to factor in the fact that early
November included a significant amount of election traffic
for a good solid week or two.
If current
trends continue, I'd expect message 5,000 in mid-July.
