While I hope I'm not bringing up a dead horse
here, I just wanted to make one comment regarding the
'statistical' calculations performed recently by Messrs.
Hayeslip and Ismail.
Basically, they demonstrated
that a lot depends on what calculations you decide to
make; it is up to other people to decide whether or not
the calculations make sense.
IMO, I agree
with NAQT's decision not to make an a posteriori
correction. I also agree that something *should* be done next
year to prevent a situation like this for next year.
[I *don't* think, however, that forcing invitations
to be issued in strict order of finish is
necessarily a good idea: as a rule, anything that limits
flexibility is *more* likely, in the long run, to produce
"unjust" results.]
