For those of you who might be interested,
Friday
night in Chiacgo features one of the best alternative
concert line-ups I've seen in a while. The Soft Boys,
Robyn Hitchcock's original group, has reunited for a
tour w/Hitchcock, and will be playing at the Metro
Chicago theatre. Sharing the bill is John Wesley Harding,
one of the best pop/folk singers around. Both
bands
are highly intelligent and entertaining, and The Soft
Boys are considered one of the most influential bands
of all time, especially on such bands as R.E.M. and
They Might Be Giants. Harding is a blast, sounding
like Elvis Costello at his 70's best, but with more
pop polish. If you can make it, do so. I'll see you
there. Anyone wanting more info, e-mail me for song
