We've kicked around some numbers with people here and wanted to come to all of you for some advice and some answers. We figure we can pull this off with respect to staffing and rooms and feeding kids, but we're a bit concerned about cost. We figure the cost will be about $100 per student, with everything included for the week. This assumes that our club will still subsidize several hundred dollars to make this happen, but we think it's definitely worth it. The $100 figure is the lowest we can afford without our coffers (which are never funded very well, anyway) going dry. The questions, then, becomes: Are people willing to pay this for their quiz bowler to attend our camp for a week and do you think that other parents will feel the same way if the answer is yes? The way we look at it, this includes all meals, all rooming, access to DePauw's facilites (including athletic facilities, a room to watch movies in during the evenings and other things) room and board and other elements, as well. This should cost far less than most camps of any kind, we think (based on our memories of going to camps when we were younger). We're anxious for everyone's input, especially anyone involved with high schools, from competitors to coaches. Anything is helpful. Stan Jastrzebski '03, President DUCKS Quiz Bowl
