First, congratulations to Chicago for going undefeated and winning their third NAQT ICT. Congrats also to Princeton and Pittsburgh for their undergraduate and D-2 titles. (Did Matt W play in D-2? I thought once you were on a team that qualified for the D-1 ICT, you became ineligible for D-2? If Matt was not on the D-2 team, that's all the more impressive for the school in general.) Anyway, this question is for the 10 or 12 people who still care about polls and rankings :). As Chicago won the ICT (presumably led by Cincinnatus Yaphe), who would you make #1: Chicago or Michigan? Had Andrew played a relatively full schedule this year, I don't think there would be a lot of debate, but the fact is that Chicago without Andrew drops a couple spots (to 3 or 4). If Andrew could have played ACF, I would have favored Chicago to beat Michigan (though certainly it would not have been a done deal). Yet arguments also have to be made for depth (Michigan did finish second AND third at the ICT) and overall season performance (13 victories, including ACF Nationals, with their highest team _never_ finishing lower than second). Thus perhaps co-#1 is in order, but if I were to choose, I would choose Michigan for the whole year's work, even though Chicago with Andrew may in fact be a better team...so hard to say, both teams are in a class by themselves. Just some thoughts, and in the grand scheme of things, both teams are national champions anyway. -Adam
