On Anthony's suggestion: Actually Anthony, I had brought back from my house (meaning my parent's house) for practice purposes to the Trivia Club a set of 1991 ACF Intramural packets (for those who don't believe). Despite the no-longer-applicable-current events questions, the guys on the team found them quite good though generally really easy. Fairly comparable to the GLRAC sets we have written, maybe easier. Division II for ACF Nationals/Regionals would be a very good suggestion. I was thrown into qb having to play against grad students who obviously have played the game for a lot longer than I ever did. Having a "novice/junior" division to ACF Regions and Nats would I think attract a lot of teams who while they may still find the questions tough can compete against teams with similar experience. Untimed: I still prefer untimed formats because it is so much easier to officiate. Reading and scorekeeping by yourself an untimed round is a lot easier than for a timed round. To help develop readers, I try to push people to read for untimed comps before going on to timed rounds. Also, a lot of high school formats do not like timed formats because of the "influence" of the reader (reads too slow or too fast).
