I'm looking at historic posts, and thus have come across the Tiebreak Debate. At a tourney at Yale in Feb, I learned that both of my schools teams finished third in our bracket, and thus would make the playoffs. So when they post the playoff tree, I notice that NEITHER of our teams has made the playoffs. Their weak excuse was a "circle of death", and total points. This would be a legit reason except for the simple reason that it was wrong. For our A team, they listed another teams record as one game higher than it was, producing a 3-way tie that would leave us out. For our B team, there WAS a 3-way tie, but they swept the other two teams. The condescending TDs basically told me to shut up, until they verified that, yes, they WERE morons. They called back the team whose record they had overstated to stick our A team in, and our B team replaced a team that had left because they KNEW they weren't in the playoffs, that is until the TDs screwed everything up. Their website still has the wrong records, and I really wonder how many other teams would have made the playoffs but didn't fight because they figured, what's the point. In short, have you ever had a tournament where the TD(s) were overly condescending and ignoring of obvious errors on their part?
