Shameless plug :
GW hosts a trash
tournament every spring (Beltway Bandits) which a fan of
sci-fi literature and film, RPGs, comic books, etc.
would probably enjoy. Most of this is likely due to TD
Edmund Schluessel, but some of the credit also goes to a
number of us who have some sort of nexus to "geek"
trash, including this former D&D and M:TG player and
occassional sci-fi reader. As the anti-geekish backlash in
trash tournaments continues, Beltway's sort of been
marching to a different drummer.
I anticipate that
this summer's Capital Punishment tournament (last
weekend in July) at GW, while more mainstream, will
probably enjoyed by people complain about the anti-geek
backlash in trash.
