I've just read in the news that Douglas Adams
died yesterday of a heart attack.
I realize
this is off-topic, so I'll keep it brief, but Adams'
work is a favorite of QB players nationwide. Between
the radio series of "Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the
Galaxy" which grew into a series of novels, his
contributions to "Dr. Who" during the Tom Baker years, the
"Dirk Gently" novels, the text adventures he wrote for
Infocom, and all his other works, I can't help but feel
that an important piece of intellectual culture has
been lost.
