I'm under the impression that many Florida
tournaments use the Panasonic format (six teams at once)
although there are tournaments at U of F, Vanguard, and
Martin County which use tossup/bonus. Invitationals in
the Maryland-Virginia area generally use tossup/bonus
or some variant--you're probably thinking of the
"It's Academic" TV show, which exists in DC and its MD
and VA suburbs, in which three teams compete at a
time and many other aspects of the format are
unorthodox compared to the college game.
