Tom brought up some great points about the whole game show process, and I'd love to see what his course is all about, although I don't think I'll be anywhere near Montgomery anytime soon. Some of the speculation about mentioning/not mentioning our quizbowl experience could come from the fact that for some people, it's the primary thing they would like to talk about. Tom, you said you mentioned your academic competition experience as one of the five things on your Jeopardy! list. Was it the first thing on the list, or the last thing on the list? I ask because while many of us do enjoy QB, we surely have other experiences that make us more interesting, especially to a TV audience. Given the significant numbers of QBers getting on these shows recently, you wonder if some people hear about all of these people mentioning their QB experience and getting the feeling these academic teams, etc. are training people for game shows and that's all we do. I don't think there's anything wrong with mentioning quizbowl experience on these shows as long as you can distinguish yourself with some other story, anecdote, etc. It's good to get the word out about the QB world, but let's just hope we're reflecting a good image (in terms of charisma, personality, etc., not necessarily money) while we're out there. --JQ
